Thinking Differently About Diversity
This creative community engagement project aims to encourage curiosity about the role and value of diversity in nature and in society.
In a series of artist-led workshops, neurodivergent people from across Gloucestershire are being invited to use art to reflect on how the natural diversity of trees and forests links to their own experiences, feelings, and ideas about neurodiversity.
Images of the artwork created in the workshops will be displayed in a multimedia exhibition at Westonbirt Arboretum, as well as in an online gallery and a printed anthology.
The project is being co-produced by Forestry England and Artspace Cinderford, and has been facilitated by The ZIG/ZAG Project via the Barnwood Trust ‘Creating Change’ group.
In development
ZIG/ZAG Peer Mentoring Scheme
In partnership with user-led disability rights charity Inclusion Gloucestershire, we are developing a pilot peer mentoring scheme for late-identified neurodivergent adults across Gloucestershire.
The pilot project will offer structured peer support for people who have recently discovered their own neurodivergence, by matching them with experienced neurodivergent mentors who can offer empathetic support and solidarity as they explore their neurodivergent identity.
Learning outcomes from this pilot will be made available through an end-of-project evaluation report, with a view to informing development of ongoing support in Gloucestershire and beyond.
